Soup can be high in fiber if it has lots of high fiber vegetables or beans in it. The Mayo Clinic recommends getting between 21-25 grams of fiber daily for women and 30 to 38 grams of fiber for men. Soup can be made high fiber with the addition of both beans and vegetables. Beans and legumes have the highest fiber content, making them a great ingredients to easily increase fiber. Split peas, lentils, and black beans all have around 15 grams of fiber per cup. Vegetable soup can be made high fiber by adding in beans or lentils into it.

Lentil soup has around 12 grams of fiber per cup of soup. You can increase the fiber in lentil soup by adding in extra vegetables or beans. For this detox lentil soup, we added in high fiber foods like dates, pumpkin seeds, and kale. Lentil soup is already a great source of fiber by itself, add in some extra high fiber vegetables and beans to make it even better.

Instead of the lentils, i add chickpea flour after the ingredients are cooked and blended. I make a pouring consistency batter and then make pancakes.
