Yield: 12

Cheesy Bread Recipe

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of sourdough bread ( or any artisan crusty bread)
  • 2 cups of cubed, sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bell (or hot) pepper (optional. as desired)

Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch thick slices. Now cut it the other way to form a criss cross pattern leaving the bottom crust intact.Cheesy Bread
    3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
    4. Brush the butter mixture onto each slice of bread.
    5. Stuff the bread with the cubes or slices of cheese. OR Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top and in between the bread slices.
    6. Place the bread slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
    7. Serve warm and enjoy!
