Two delicious Mai Tai recipes with very different ingredients and flavors
We give you both the original Trader Vic’s recipe and the Island version as we call it
To make the Tiki Island Drink
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add
1 1/2 oz. Malibu Coconut Rum
1 1/2 oz. Captain Morgan Spiced rum
2 oz. orange juice
3 oz. pineapple juice
Shake until the contents are fully chilled
Pour into a tiki glass filled with ice
Drizzle 1 tsp Grenadine on top and allow it to sink to the bottom
Garnish with fresh fruit slices and enjoy
To make the Trader Vic's original recipe
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add
1/2 orange-squeezed
1/2 lime-squeezed
1 1/2 oz. Jamaican dark rum
1 oz. aged rum
1/2 oz. orange curacao
1/4 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz. Orgeat
Attach the lid and shake vigorously until the contents are fully chilled
Pour into a Tom Collins glass filled with ice
