Begin by preheating your oven to 350 Degrees F In a mixing bowl combine 3 Cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda

In a separate bowl cream together 1 cup (2 sticks) butter softened to room temperature 1 Cup granulated sugar 1 Cup brown sugar

Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing between each egg Pour in 1 tsp vanilla extract Mixing until everything is creamy

Pour the flour mixture, in small additions, into the wet ingredients Mixing until just combined

Using a wooden spoon stir in  (1) 10 oz bag of dark chocolate chips We used the Ghirardelli brand Add chopped nuts if you would like

Using an ice cream or cookie scoop for equally sized cookies, drop onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat mat

Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are slightly browned Allow to cool for a minute before transferring to a cooling rack
