In a 2qt saucepan melt together 1 stick butter 2 Cups granulated sugar 1/2 Cup milk and  4 Tbs cocoa powder

Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil for 1 minute Be sure you are stirring constantly, and remove from heat at exactly 1 minute to prevent scorching

Immediately add  1/2 Cup creamy peanut butter  1 Tbs vanilla extract and 3 Cups old fashioned or quick oats (your preference) Stir until everything is mixed and creamy

The mixture will be hot and slightly goopy Prepare the cookie surface by laying out strips of wax paper or tin foil

Using a spoon, drop cookies onto the prepared surface 2 inches apart to cool and set This recipe makes roughly 24 cookies depending on the size of cookie drops you form

Once the cookies have fully cooled you will be able to stack and store them, or enjoy them
