This delicious scrub is a great way to invigorate and moisturize your skin! I was walking around my garden at home and noticed that my Lavender bushes were giving out their last beautiful purple flowers of the summer season. I really wanted to use the flowers for something so I read up on these yummy coconut oil sugar scrubs!
This was my very first attempt at making a sugar scrub, and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to make a great looking scrub! The most difficult task I was faced with is how to get my lavender ground up into smaller pieces that blend with the coconut and sugar. If I was to make this scrub again I would use a food processor, being resourceful and without access to a food processor I simply cut the flowers into small pieces with scissors. I still needed to grind them to release some of the oil scents. So I popped the cut up lavender pieces into the microwave for 30 seconds and soon my house smelled of wonderful soothing lavender!
Coconut Lavender Sugar Scrub
Ingredients:
7 Fresh or dry lavender sprigs
1 cup of granulated sugar
3 Tbs of Coconut Oil
2-3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
Instructions:
Blend Coconut oil and lavender sprigs together in a food processor, next add the sugar and drops of essential oil. Pulse all ingredients together until they are properly mixed.
This scrub will last for about a week if you use fresh lavender sprigs, it will last longer if you use dried lavender.
Adjust the amount of oil and sugar you use to fit your tastes. I like my scrubs a little “scrubbier” so I use less oil and more sugar.
