What’s in a Gimlet?

There are several ways to make a gimlet drink. Some recipes use rosemary and Basil.

One of the original recipes we found uses Roses Lime syrup rather than fresh lime. You can make a vodka Gimlet too. But this recipe is a gin cocktail.

Ingredients For Gimlet Cocktail

Gimlet Ingredients:

If you go your own way with the lime Juice and simple syrup you can make many version of this classic gimlet.

Create a basil Gimlet with basil syrup. Cucumber and Rosemary syrups are also great choices is you want to try a cucumber or rosemary gimlet.

Gimlet Garnishes:

The garnish should reflect the character of the drink. We chose a lime wheel since we used fresh lime. a sprig of mint will refresh and enhance any flavor.

  • lime wheel or wedge
  • mint leaves
  • rosemary sprig
  • basil leaf
  • cucumber curl

The Glass:

This classic cocktail reflects it’s elegant and vintage heritage best if shaken and strained into a chilled Coupe or Martini glass.

Gin Gimlet Recipe with Lime

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

This Classic Gin Gimlet Recipe is made with Dry Gin, fresh lime and Simple Syrup. Classy and assertively refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz. Dry Gin (we used Beefeaters Brand)
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime juice OR (3/4 oz Rose Lime Syrup)
  • lime slice for Garnish

Instructions

Glass:

ChillCoop Glass for 30 minutes (optional)

Making the Gimlet:

  1. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the Gin
  3. Squeeze the fresh lime into the shaker (Or use the Roses Lime)
  4. Shake the cocktail shaker about 30 seconds until it's very cold.
  5. Pour into your chilled glass
  6. Garnish with the lime slice

Notes
