Peach Pineapple Smoothie

Delicious peach pineapple smoothie offers a wonderful blend of nutrients and notes of pineapple and peach flavors

I’ve been experimenting with smoothies again and this one is quickly becoming a favorite! I have really enjoyed incorporating coconut milk into my fruit smoothies. It offers a delicious hint of coconut and it’s very low calorie at only 80 calories per cup! I’m really trying to get my smoothies recipes down to a nutritious science.

I don’t really worry too much about calorie count in the higher protein smoothies. But if I’m doing a fruit smoothie for a good boost of vitamins, then I try and shoot for lower calories to help boost the nutrition.

Peach Pineapple Smoothie is Chock Full of Protein

This smoothie recipe offers about 7 grams of protein. You can boost that with your favorite protein powder if you like or replace half the coconut milk with greek yogurt.

Variations And Additions For This Smoothie:

Here are a few ideas for some additions to your smoothies that will boost the nutrient value even higher.

  • dark leafy greens. Learn more about their food value at the USDA here. A half a cup of spinach or kale would go really well in this smoothie. And you’ll benefit from the little boost in vitamins. dark greens always give me loads of energy so I love incorporating them whenever I can.
  • using chia seeds and ground flax seeds will add some texture and thickness to your smoothie. As well as omega 3 and soluble fiber. Both are considered helpful in breastmilk production.

Hi Renee, You may use whatever milk you prefer. It will change the flavor a bit but not enough to make a big difference.

This smoothie is on my short list. I love peaches and pineapple. Never thought to put them together. I, too, add chia seeds to so many things. Why not? They are super healthful and I kinda like the texture they give.
