Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie. A Yummy Protein smoothie that leaves you full for hours!

My husband and I went out and bought a Ninja blender. We wanted a way to eat our fruits and veggies in one easy and convenient source. So we decided we would do smoothies!

We ran off to Costco and came back with an entire kitchen table full of fresh fruits and veggies. We were all ready and motivated to eat every single one of those fruits and veggies.

We soon realized we bought WAY too many. Since we bought them at Costco they all came in huge quantities! I had a bag of 30 lemons, 25 limes, a massive bag of green spinach and countless other goodies to use all before it went bad. We gave it a valiant effort.

We made smoothies by the dozens. Some of our favorite smoothie recipes are in our smoothie and smoothie bowl section. We love them!

Sadly, in our initial smoothie frenzy….We did end up throwing a bit of our fruit out. We have since learned our lesson and have figured out the value of frozen fruit when making smoothies. Beware overstocking on fresh fruit.

The freezer fruits are already frozen so no ice is needed. You get a better nutrient concentration that way too. Throw some fresh fruits in if you have them. BUT! The REALLY cool thing about frozen fruits is they lose none of their nutrients when frozen if it’s properly done. That just makes smoothies a fantastic choice for a healthy, easy, low prep breakfast.

Even so, we gorged ourselves on berry smoothies until we couldn’t stand them anymore. We were ready and eager to try a new flavor combination.

Then I stumbled upon this little gem of a smoothie.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie Recipe:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie

Protein Smoothie

The chocolate peanut butter smoothie tastes great and definitely feels like you just ate an entire meal. Seriously with 1 entire cup of greek yogurt that’s 24 grams of protein right there. So without further ado, I give you…. Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie!

Homemade Hot Coco Mix

Dark Chocolate shaved and chopped. So good on top of this smoothie!

We were SO ready to find a new nutritious NON fruit smoothie. I started looking for alternates. In my cupboard I found two of my favorite flavor partners. A Couple of slabs of unsweetened baking Chocolate, cocoa powder and peanut butter. Greek yogurt was sitting in the fridge too alongside milk. Perfect! After playing around a bit with them I came up with this yummy liquid breakfast.

Not a piece of fruit in site and choc full of sustaining proteins. And only about 300 calories. Peanut butter toast can’t beat that!

Smoothies are incredibly easy to make. This one is no exception!

  • Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth
  • Adjust the milk to your liking, more milk will give you a more liquid consistency. Less will give you a thicker smoothie.

Note: I added Unsweetened dark chocolate shavings to the top for the photo. I actually really liked it. DO shave off some Dark chocolate bits and have at it. Look for a higher percentage chocolate of at least 60 percent to get some good out of it.

Are the calories accurate for this?

Hi Sesha! Thank you for your comment! No that previous calorie count wasn't accurate, I changed it to reflect a more accurate count. If you are wanting even fewer calories you can cut the peanut butter in half, peanut butter is very high in calories coming in at 190 calories for 2 tablespoons! Thank you and have a wonderful day!
