Halloween Punch Ideas:

Halloween punch deserves it’s very own section. Halloween punch recipes are popular for Halloween parties. There are so many ideas to change up the recipe for various Halloween party ideas we decided to highlight a few.

You can go all out with Dry ice, cauldrons, spooky signs and edible green glitter. These decor tips will enhance your punch to next level. Or… just add a few dollar store webs and spiders to the table.

The green color of this punch makes it spook-tacular. Add even more to your Halloween theme with these ideas for names and garnishings.

  • Swamp Juice: Add some dry ice for a foggy effect. Maybe some creatures or skeletons in there?
  • Make it as a Witches Brew and garnish it with gummy worms or plastic spiders. Serve it in a cauldron to really get into the Halloween spirit.
  • Green-Eyed Monster Punch, or Monster Mash: Add some googly eyes to the cups to make it look like the monsters are watching you.
  • Poison Punch: Name your green punch “Poison Punch” (similar idea to our Adult Poison Apple Punch Recipe).Serve it in a skull-shaped punch bowl or glasses. Dry ice and Edible green glitter makes it look more mysterious and toxic.
  • Green Slime Punch: Things to make your green sherbet punch slimier include:
    • Chia Seeds: Mix in some chia seeds with your punch and let them soak for a few minutes. They’ll absorb the liquid and create a gel-like coating that looks slimy.
    • Green Jello: You can also add some green-colored lime jello to your punch. OR use plain gelatin that won’t add more sweetness, just the slime. The jello will thicken the liquid and create a slimy texture.
    • Cornstarch: Another option is to mix a small amount of cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to your punch and stir well. The cornstarch will thicken the punch and give it a slimy texture.
  • These ingredients may affect the taste and texture of your punch. Experiment with small batches first to find the right balance of sliminess and flavor. Label your punch as “slime punch” so guests are aware of the unusual texture before they try it.

Our punch recipe with lime sherbet is a good basic green punch that can be easily reinvented to fit your ‘Green’ themed occasions with just a few tweaks.

Green Punch

Glassware:

Many punch bowl sets come with glasses. You can choose to use them, or buy a set more suited to your party atmosphere. Here are some options.

  • Clear glasses: Tall glasses, like hi balls, are more difficult to pour into from a ladle, choose short round clear glasses that will showcase the colors and textures of the punch and be easy to fill. if you have a set of punch bowl cups they are probably a better choice than a narrow tall glass.
  • Stemmed glasses: Stemmed glasses can give your punch a more formal or elegant look, and can also help to keep the punch cool by preventing your hands from warming up the drink.
  • Mason jars: Mason jars can give your punch a rustic or vintage feel, and can be a fun and casual option for outdoor events or summer parties.
  • Plastic party cups: These are always a good option for parties, but cause a lot of waste. Set a garbage receptacle out conspicuously for guests.

Make sure to choose glasses that are large enough to give a decent serving, presentation and are easy to hold and set down without spills.

Rimming A Glass:

We chose to rim our glasses with frosting and add large gold sprinkle to the rim of the glass. You can also use simple syrup or water to wet the edge of the glasses you are using and add pizzaz with green sprinkles, or other fun party themed additions.

Shamrock Punch
Heavy canned frosting works well to hold large sprinkles on the cup rim.

Tips for Rimming Your Glass:

  • Rim your glasses ahead of serving
  • Before making a fancy rim, Set your glasses into the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes or so they keep your drink cool.
  • Use a really sticky frosting to hold large sprinkles, like our gold sprinkles. For small, fine sugars and sprinkles, use can use simple syrup.
  • Set the sticky rimming ingredient on a flat plate.
  • Pour some of your decorations on another flat plate.
  • Invert your glass and set it into the rimming ingredient.
  • Now coat the rim with your garnish ingredient.
Ice Cubes

Tips for Adding ice to punch:

Here are several ways to chill your punch with ice. They all have advantages deepening on your situation, season and theme.

  1. ALWAYS Chill your punch bowl or dispenser before adding the punch. This will help to keep the punch cold for longer and prevent it from melting the ice too quickly.
  2. Use large ice cubes or blocks. Larger ice cubes will melt more slowly than small ones, which means your punch will stay cold and flavorful for longer.
  3. Freeze some of the punch in advance. If you have extra punch left over, you can pour it into ice cube trays and freeze it. Then, when you’re ready to serve the punch, you can use these punch cubes instead of regular ice cubes. This will add extra flavor to your punch and prevent it from getting too watered down.
  4. Serve the punch over ice. If you’re serving the punch in individual glasses, you can fill each glass with ice before pouring in the punch. This will keep the punch cold and refreshing, and give your guests a chance to adjust the strength of their drink by adding more or less ice as desired.

Green Berry Hawaiian Punch Recipe Version:

This is a popular flavor of green colored punch. You can make it by adding just one ingredient to our Lime green Sherbet Punch. The sherbet is good, but not necessary for this punch.

Green Berry Hawaiian drink mix adds a sweet and tangy taste that is balanced out by the lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, and pineapple juice. The end result is a refreshing and delicious punch that is perfect for any occasion, especially a summertime gathering.

You just need to add a packet(or 1/2 a packet for our small batch recipe) of the drink mix to our basic green punch recipe and stir it in.

OPTIONS: Some people enjoy the flavor balance of using this mix with equal parts ginger ale and lemon lime soda. Dilute the batch with a cup of water or stir in some ice cubes if you want to increase the dilution. Fresh berries and sliced fruit make a nice garnish for this punch.

The sherbet will add a creamy texture and also complement the fruity flavors of the punch. Lime, raspberry and pineapple sherbet are all good sherbets as toppers for this punch. But if you want the punch to stay very green if you are stirring it into the punch, use lime.

You can add a scoop of sherbet onto the single servings as part of the garnish, or set scoops of sherbet onto the punch bowl and allow them to float and melt in. Do whatever works best for your purposes.
