  • Pour ice into a cocktail shaker
  • Add all ingredients into the cocktail shaker
  • Shake the shaker for 30-60 seconds
  • Fill a whiskey glass half full with ice
  • Pour cocktail over ice
  • Garnish with a caramel skewered on a long pick
  • Suspend garnish over glass

Can I omit the heavy cream in a Buttered Toffee Cocktail?

Yes, you can substitute the heavy cream for lighter half and half, or omit it completely for a very light drink. Just keep in mind the sweetness and alcohol flavor of the drink will become more noticeable without the creamy element.

Garnish ideas for the Buttered Toffee Cocktail

We kept it simple with a caramel square because this is such a sweet, filling drink on its own. However, if you are looking to up the decadency or visual impact of this drink we are sharing our favorite ideas for garnishes you could try below.

  • Rim the glass with sugar and toffee crumbles, or salt for a salty and sweet dance
  • Drizzle with caramel sauce
  • Serve with a Piroline creme filled cookie
  • Top with whipped cream and salted butterscotch or Heath candy crumbles
  • Serve over coffee ice cubes to intensify the coffee element and prevent the drink from becoming watered down

This delicious butter toffee cocktail is the perfect warm and smooth drink for a chilly fall or winter evening. Serve it with a caramel on top and you have a beautiful and decadent cocktail for a gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Amaretto Liqueur
  • 1 oz Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
  • 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1.5 oz Milk
  • 1 oz Heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Pour ice into a cocktail shaker

Notes

If you want a stronger butterscotch flavor, swap out the Kahlua for Butterscotch Liqueur.

For a garnish, I use square caramels and bore a hole through the middle before skewering with a long bamboo pick.
