We have family in Austin. They took our cocktail connoisseur cousin Kari to Trudy’s bar.

Mexican Martini Recipe:
Basically this is a margarita served as a martini. The olives and martini glass create the Martini ambience we are going for. It’s fun to make and delicious to drink.
Everything you need to make this tequila cocktail. Except the glass.
Ingredients List:
- Reposado Tequila
- cointreau
- orange juice
- lime juice
- Dirty Martini Olive Juice
TIP: Use a good quality reposado tequila for the best flavor. You will be paid back in the smoothness of the drink. Promise!

This is a simple way to add a touch of sophistication to your tequila cocktail.
Tip: Keep the salted rim light. The condensation from the chilled glass might melt the salt into the drink as you drink it.
If you’re a sipper rather than a slurper the salt might make quite a statement to this drink by the end.

- Try different stuffed olives for fun. We chose pimento stuffed martini olives and they are traditional. Jalapeño stuffed olives are a way to bring that Mexican vibe to the party.
- If you add muddled peppers to the drink (see below) set a bright red curly pepper on the glass side instead of the lime wheel.

Mexican Martini Recipe
This Mexican Martini recipe from at Trudy's bar in Austin Texas is wildly popular with the locals and visitors. A smooth reposado tequila drink with light citrus flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Reposado Tequila
- 1 oz. Cointreau
- 1 oz. Fresh lime Juice
- 3/4 oz. Fresh Orange Juice
- 1/2 oz. Olive brine- Dirty martini juice
Instructions
Rim Glass:
- set two flat plates on a counter.
- Pour simple syrup on one plate
- Pour salt on the other plate.
- Invert the martini glass and roll the lip in the simple syrup.
- Move the glass to the salt and roll the rim until a fine edge of salt completely coats the glass rim.
Make Mexican Martini:
- Fill your cocktail shaker half full with ice
- Add the tequila, cointreau and juices all into your shaker.
- Shake vigorously 10 to 30 seconds until the shaker is very cold.
- Strain the drink into your salt rimmed martini glass.
Garnishing:
- fresh lime wheel
- 3 Stuffed Martini Olives
