Baked Tilapia in homemade Asian Orange sauce is so easy! Make a tasty, quick and healthy dinner ready in under an hour! High-Protein, Low-Fat, Low-Carb, Low-Sodium, Low-Sugar, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free!

If you’re looking for a delicious, easy meal that’s a heavy hitter for health, this is it! Make a quick recipe of Asian Orange sauce , cool it  bit and pour it over your Tilapia fillets. Bake it at 350 for about 20 minutes and enjoy a delicious meal. We paired this yummy fish dinner with Trader Joe’s basmati rice blend, a green kale salad and some Artisan rosemary bread from a local bakery. That made a filling meal we really enjoyed.

We chased this Baked Tilapia in Asian Orange Sauce with an after dinner drink of fresh nettles, blackberry, and dandelion green juice. A nutritional boost to your day!

Baked Tilapia in Asian Orange Sauce

This is the second time I’ve baked Tilapia. The first time, I made Breaded Tilapia Parmesan. Both times we have been very pleased with Tilapia. NOTICE: This Tilapia is not farmed in China! We carefully read the label. Turns out Mexico and several other countries with much better reputations for sanitary fish farms than China, also make and sell this delicious, healthy, white fish to our country. Please read your labels and buy fresh filets for best quality Tilapia.

We are very impressed with Tilapia. The price is very low and the nutrition is very high! The flavor is blessedly unfishy! My hubby and I aren’t big on fish. We eat it sparingly and we don’t do any seafood that has a strong flavor; we just don’t like it. Tilapia has a very understated flavor that lends itself to almost any type of flavor combination, in my opinion.

We enjoyed it with homemade Asian Orange sauce. This sauce has a delicious umami flavor and it’s full of ginger and garlic for more powerhouse nutrients. The best thing about making your own sauces and condiments is you can adjust the recipe to suit yourself. Baked Tilapia in Asian Orange Sauce is a winner of a dinner!

Asian Orange Sauce ingredients

I used sesame oil, rice vinegar, fresh garlic and ginger, honey, salt, soy sauce and fresh squeezed orange for my sauce. Yummy !

This sauce is not very sweet compared to many of the bottled orange sauces. I believe for this dish to be at it’s best you really need to make your own orange sauce. It’s really easy and you can adjust the flavors to suit yourself! A very sweet sauce will not compliment this fish dinner; as well as this rich umami Asian orange sauce full of garlic and ginger with a bit of zing!

Baked Tilapia in Asian Orange sauce:

You may want to double the sauce recipe if you like it a LOT and want some on the side. One batch made just enough for the two large Tilapia fillets shown. We didn’t need any extra but if you want more the sauce is easily doubled.

For a wonderfully healthy, side dish add Brown Rice Quinoa Blend to your meal. It’s a great choice for this easy, healthy meal!
