For this recipe use any smoked sausage you have on hand that pairs well with hamburger. We are using Polish Franks in this recipe. Because they are a mild sausage that add their own mild flavor to the stew.

What kind of Beans can I add to my soup?
In this recipe use cannoli and garbanzo beans for added flavor and fiber. You can use red kidney beans or even black beans if you prefer. If you are looking to go meatless, the beans can be used as a way to increase the protein of this soup.

Instant Pot Soup Function Method
- Brown the hamburger
- Add all the other prepared ingredients to your instant pot
- Lock the lid and set the pot to soup for 30 minutes
- Quick release and serve

Cabbage Beef Stew Recipe
Gluten-Free, Cabbage Beef Stew is a bowl of tasty, healthy, deliciousness made easily in your crock pot. This dairy free cabbage soup recipe is high in Fiber, Low in Sodium and big on flavor!
Ingredients
- INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb. Hamburger
- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small head green cabbage
- 2 ribs celery
- 1 large carrot
- 1 15 oz. can garbanzo beans
- 2 15 oz. can cannellini beans
- 1/2 Cup Sundried tomatoes
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 Cups water
Instructions
FOR THE CROCK POT.
- Dice up the celery and carrots.
- Core and Chop cabbage into one inch pieces.
- Brown hamburger and sausage.
- Pat dry the sun dried tomatoes and chop into small pieces.
- Add all the vegetables into your crock pot.
- Add the canned beans and Worcestershire sauce into your pot.
- Add water and cook on high for four hours.
FOR THE INSTANT POT:
- Dice up the celery and carrots.
- Core and Chop cabbage into one inch pieces.
- Set your instant pot to sautè.
- Brown hamburger and sausage.
- Pat dry the sun dried tomatoes and chop into small pieces.
- Add all the vegetables into your crock pot.
- Add the canned beans and Worcestershire sauce into your pot.
- Add water and cook on soup function for 30 minutes.
FOR THE STOVE TOP: In a stock pot or dutch oven
- Brown the hamburger and sausage over medium low heat.
- Chop and dice the celery and carrots into small pieces.
- Core and chop the cabbage into one inch pieces.
- Pat the sun dried tomatoes dry and chop fine.
- Add all the prepared vegetables into your stock pot.
- Pour in the beans and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add water and stir.
- Cook on medium until the soup boils.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Stir occasionally to avoid sticking to pan bottom.
Notes
At serving shake freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the soup.
