A Droolingly delicious home grilled bacon cheeseburger makes a delightful summer meal.
My guys LOVE home grilled bacon cheeseburgers! Our family favorite, no contest, is bacon cheeseburgers. The flavor of this famous combination of hamburger and bacon with cheese; adorned with lovely fresh vegetables, is unbeatable in our opinion.
The grill is our best friend lately. Here in NW Washington state, we are having a heat wave! I am personally loving it! Around here a heat wave means 80 plus degrees Fahrenheit. It’s going into the 90s this weekend! I can already hear you snickering if you live in a truly hot climate. But HERE? 70 degrees with a Sea breeze and no overcast is considered EXCELLENT weather until mid July. So 2015 is one for the books. And our grill is making Home Grilled bacon cheeseburger tonight. In our NOT air conditioned life.
I found this Sriracha Aioli Sauce by Culinary Treasures that makes mayo, relish, mustard and ketchup totally unnecessary. this sauce adds the perfect fit of complimentary flavor to these burgers and a little zip(not a lot) to really bring this burger up to gourmet level. So Yummy. You really need to find this sauce! AND NOPE! I’m not getting a dime for this rave review. Just saying….
Our appetites are very low these days. The heat here is extremely humid, so we tend to sit outside, in the shade, in the evening and drink lots of water. Food?….keeping it light. Point being? All we are having for dinner is these lovely, decadent bacon cheeseburgers. The perfect meal for tonight. No cooking in the kitchen and this luscious dinner has all the food groups in every bite. A little coffee, iced or hot, as you please, and dinner is served! For dessert? We love Blueberry Coconut Lime Popsicles. A healthy, light, icy treat.
About the Hamburger Patties:
For Homemade Hamburger Patties, I recommend you use Nathan’s Italian Style hamburgers Recipe. Nathan is my son in law. He makes the best homemade Hamburger Patties I have ever had. They have excellent flavor and they hold together and Nathan does use organic grass fed hamburger! I put up a post all about them for those of you that want to make your own. Follow the link to organic Gourmet Homemade Hamburger Heaven!
If I made my own, and I have, it would be like grilled organic meatloaf. Going more the barbecue sauce direction. I’m thinking I may do this when my kitchen cools a bit. My homemade hamburger patties tend to fall apart on the grill. Nathan’s will hold together. I may need to use his bread crumb trick!
I use Kirkland frozen patties…yes, I do. (I consider this part of our 20 percent, but i do feel guilty!). They will stay together, which Dave appreciates! He gets annoyed when the patty falls through the grill, which mine always do 🙁 These Kirkland patties come quickly out of the freezer and onto the grill. I love the convenience of these frozen patties. I don’t want to stop everything and make a hamburger patty for Dave, from scratch. He eats them erratically, and at the most inconvenient times!
Important NOTE! My hubby prefers his hamburger patties to go on the grill defrosted. Be careful with this. The package says grill directly from the freezer: To protect you from harmful bacteria that may develop and make you sick if your hamburger is not THOROUGHLY cooked.
Dave is carful to make sure he gets it cooked right. He swears cooking defrosted hamburger enhances the flavor of frozen patties. I believe him. They taste wonderful. His only seasoning is an occasional sprinkling of Mc Cormick’s Montreal Steak seasoning after the patties are turned. Otherwise they need no further enhancement.
The fresh veggies you see come from our garden , lovely, fresh and nutritious . Excellent on a Home Grilled bacon cheeseburger!
Maximum flavor includes perfectly fresh, organic vegetables. Throw out your limp iceberg lettuce and replace it with curly scotch kale for lots of body and a huge nutritional and flavor boost. Tomatoes? Go get some garden grown local, ripened on the vine, organic lovelies for the best flavor. Did I say this meal was cheap? Get your produce from the best sources you can. Always! In the summer try your local farmer’s market, food co-op or neighbors garden; if you don’t grow your own. Nutrients can’t hold well in long storage produce. The longer they are stored the more nutritional value they lose. Go for the gold. And make Nathan’s homemade organic hamburger patties!
Home Grilled bacon cheeseburger:
Hamburgers are an American tradition; like apple pie and hot dogs. All of which are staples at our summer parties. Nothing like a good meal in a bun. You can pick this baby up and get only minimal drip and maximal flavor. This hamburger is always at OUR summer grill parties and well loved by all. We hope you love it too!
Note my nutritional app says this is, low carb and gluten free. I KNOW it’s not gluten free the way we made it. And maybe not low carb with the bun? so go bunless for low-carb and use gluten free buns if you need them. Enjoy!
